We are pleased to have Pocket Full of Tales teaching their popular Musical Theatre Workshop for children.
This class is a designed as a drop off class for children ages 4-6 and children ages 6-9. Parents are welcome to stay and participate with younger children as needed.
Scripted original musicals are the leaping off point for our Musical Theatre Workshops. Your child will experience adventures in acting, dancing, singing, art and teamwork! Students will work together to create fabulous performances for family, friends and the community on the last day of class. An exciting and fun introduction to the world of musical theater and a chance to work with a professional acting teacher on a great show! Taught by Jennie Mayer

SHOWS
Session 1: “Cinderella”
The classic tale of a girl, a glass slipper, a fairy godmother and an
awful step family. Cinderella’s many long hours of hard work, pay
off when she gets to attend the royal ball and win the princes heart.
Session 2:
“Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory” A town full of excited children and only
a limited number of golden tickets. Who will get to enter the famous
chocolate factory and win a chance to be in charge? Many will try
and after some crazy run ins with squirrels and blueberries, one boy
will have his life changed forever.
Session 3: “James
and the Giant Peach” Poor
James
is forced to live with his two wicked aunts until a giant
peach
spurs a fabulous adventure to freedom. Inside he’ll meet some bugs
that have snacked on some magical pips and are ready to make all of
his dreams come true. From the ocean to midtown Manhattan the fun
never stops!
Session 4:
“Frog
Prince” When the Princess receives a golden ball as a gift from her
Fairy godmother, it seems like all fun and games. Until she goes out
to play with her best friends and ends up promising companionship to
a frog who retrieves her golden ball from a well. At the King’s
command, she begrudgingly fulfills her promise but then gets a big
surprise!
Session 5: “Aladdin”
A poor boy living on the streets, “a diamond in the rough”,
befriends a Princess in disguise and hopes to marry her one day. But
first he must figure out to get past the evil Jafar; who needs him to
find a magic lamp and release the Genie inside of it.

In 1999 the company set out on a mission; to bring art, theatre and adventures of the imagination to every child we meet. For the past 9 years we have been doing just that; through performances and classes with kids and their families from Boston to Los Angeles. Kristy Pace is the founder of Pocket Full of Tales Theatre Company. She earned her Master’s Degree in Theatre Education from Emerson College. She has had the pleasure of teaching from coast to coast since 1984 with the organizations like the Worcester Children’s Theater, Fiddlehead Theater Company, Kidstock , Theater After Hours, Newton JCC, Weston Windows, Mitchell School , Waltham Schools, Dorchester High, the reDiscover Center, SMASH and dozens of other theatre programs for pre-school, elementary and secondary school children in Massachusetts, North Carolina, California and New Hampshire.
