Who We Are
Our Mission
Welcome to Create your Adventures! We are a family of four – Shannon, Whitney, Keely, and Ryder – who love to travel, explore, and have fun. We always look for ways to teach our children through experiences.
Former educators and weekend warriors, we have pivoted in our careers and are quickly learning we want more for our family. With an 8 and a 5 year old, the rat race has already begun, working all day and then schlepping the kids from activity to activity. We want more – less stuff and chores, but more time for adventures together.
It’s been our dream for quite some time now – to get out there on the open road with nothing but adventure on our minds. In June, we are leaving Virginia Beach behind, and we will explore the United States in our camper, the Big Blue Beast. While we will plan where to park the Big Blue Beast and ensure everyone’s needs are met, we also believe in going with the flow and seeing what unexpected encounters await us around each corner!

Our Core Values
After a family dinner, we sat down with Keely and Ryder and did an activity to develop our family’s core values. Since Keely started Kindergarten 3 years ago, I’ve told her every day before school some life rules we’d like our kids to live by – Be Kind. Work Hard. Use Your Manners. Have fun. We all try to live these daily, but we wanted to give the kids a say in our Core Values. After learning and talking about different values – we agreed on the following.
